September 27, Kids class

My classes started on September 14, next day of my returning.
It was great to see them again. They grow during the summer.
They are drawing and painting of summer squashes, pumpkins, eggplants and bell peppers.

September 27, Rice harvesting in Kawagoe

It is rice harvesting time.
The rice fields ripe golden ears.

September 23, No summer's heat or winter's cold lasts over the equinox

Everyone said it had been extremely hot for days this summer.
Middle of August a severe heat wave across much of Japan intensified, with temperatures topping 40C (104F) for the first time in six years, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
FYI, the Tokyo Olympic 2020 will hold in August.

When I came back to Japan on September 13, it was still hot and humid.
Then big typhoon hit on 14th and 15th.

The weather becoming cooler and cooler day by day.
It was beautiful and comfortable day today.
No heat or cold lasted beyond the equinox in Japanese proverbs.

Red spider lilies, or cluster amaryllises are beautiful now.
We call them equinox-flower.
I took those photos at Suijyo Ko-en Park in Kawagoe.

September 13, from Japan

My flight from SFO arrived at Narita Tokyo airport 3:10PM.
I took an airport shuttle to Kawagoe. It took about 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The sunset was beautiful, but no natural trees.

There is the sky tree,  the world's tallest broadcasting tower at 634 meters.
Various designs adopted to symbolize the tower as the place where tradition and the future meet.

September 12, from SFO to NRT

My summer in Eugene went very fast this year, because  I took a trip to South France for twenty days.
I enjoyed my trip very much. Coming back to Eugene is not a trip for me. It is more like I am coming back to my second home.
It was always wonderful to come back to Eugene to see my friends and neighbors.
I am typing this blog on my way back on an airplane to Japan now.
I am thinking of all of people I know in Eugene. I have known most of them more than over a decade. They/You have been supporting me. I appreciate it VERY much.

These three photos are from my special friend Tricia's garden, Cortesia Sanctuary.
Cortesia Sanctuary is my most favorite peaceful place in Eugene.
My friends Christina and Mike just moved from Cannon beach to Corivalles.
I met them at Painted Hills, Eastern Oregon many years ago.
I wanted introduce them to Tricia & Forrest, so I took them to Cortesia Sanctuary.
Christina and Mike enjoyed the beautiful garden in woods and meeting with my dear friends.

These three photos are about Genies.
I joined Anita's garage sale. I made a little money from the garage sale  so I bought wild salmon for Genies potluck.
Genies women's gathering is originally started by Harriet Kofalk many years ago.
Now it happens once a year in summer when I am in Eugene.
I was so happy to see Sr. Kiran from Peace place.
We had a great time of course*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'(*゚▽゚*)'・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

One day I stayed overnight at Casita in Cortesia Sanctuary.
Tricia decorated inside of the Casita with hand crafts from  her trip to Mexico, so she named the little guest house the casita.
It was very calm in the night.  The Air in the garden/woods was very fresh.
When I wake up in the morning I felt healed by fresh air.
I would like to paint more at Cortesia next summer.

I enjoyed working on oil paintings this summer in Eugene.
I found a beautiful garden last year.
It is Northwest Garden Nursery.
Some one said last year the garden introduced in a book of 100 gardens in the US or Pacific Northwest you must see before you dye.
I just love painting out there all day long.
I thanked Marietta, an owner of the garden very much.
Painting in her beautiful garden gives me an new way of painting.
The garden is very rush, and so many flowers and plants I want to paint.
So I started with dark brown painted canvas.  It worked very well.
I also started oil paintings from my French sketches.

I will be very busy with my classes until next June, but I would like to paint from my French sketches.
