August 12 From Oregon

I backed to Oregon on last Thursday evening.
My flight from Provence was delay because of thunder in Frankfurt airport.
I missed the flight, so I stayed at Frankfurt.
The Lufthansa airline provided us hotels and meals which was good.
I had a relaxing day before my long time trip to Oregon.
It is always happy to come back to my studio and garden.

I miss Provence because I have such a precious time in Les Bassacs with new friends, and my time in Aix-en-Provence was wonderful. I enjoyed traveling and painting by myself. Visiting Cezanne places were long time my dream. I was very happy to paint of Mt. Saint Victorie.

I am looking at my photos and paintings, and learning about places I visited in Provence.
Also I have been posting my blogs.  I will start working on my paintings from my Provence sketch books soon.

Summer in Eugene, Oregon is very comfortable.
It is cool morning and night, and hot afternoon.

I have lots of plums.
I have been eating and giving to my friends, but still lots of plums.

August 5, Saint Victorie

I have visited the Saint Victoire three times during my stay.
I took pays D'AIX bus.  It costs €1 for one trip. 10 voyages ticket for €7.
It took 40 to 50 minutes from the long distance bus terminal.

The mountain was different look from the distance.
It was a little difficult to paint in the day time because no shade on the surface.
It looked like an old wizard face with full of wrinkles.

Maison-Victoire. (Bus #110 from downtown)
This is the best place to paint of a whole view of St. Victoire.
I would like to come back in spring or autumn to paint.

The bus stop. No one waiting for a bus, but me.

Le  Bouquit (Bus #110 from downtown)
When I was on the bus, I found this shady place.
It is one of  trail entrance to Saint Victorie.
The trail goes to Cezanne Refuse and the cross on the summit.

There were picnic tables!  So I was able to work in the shade.

They  went up to the summit with their dog.
I would like to do it when it is not so hot.

Barrage  de Baimont ( Bus#L140)
The lake is 1km from the bus stop.
I asked bicyclers to the lake about the direction because the sign was difficult to understand for me.

I found shade to sit and paint, and have my lunch.

When I was working on my painting suddenly a bride, a bridegroom and a photographer showed up.
They were a beautiful couple. I didn't know they are models or an real couple.
It was a great place to take wedding photographs.

The sky was beautiful, but it turned a little sprinkle, so I had to stop painting.

There was a restaurant sign near the bus stop.
I would like to have lunch at the restaurant for my next visit.

August 3 , Cezanne Country

I visited the four Cezanne sites.

Cezanne Studio

It was about 15 minutes walk from my hotel.
The studio is surrounding trees, so we can't see the studio.

I started sketching, but I couldn't completed.
I will back tomorrow, my last day in Aix.

When I asked permission for sketching, they said I can do sketching in side of the studio.
I was very happy to hear that.
I went twice for sketching in the studio.
We can't take photos in the studio.

Painter's Ground
It is about 10-15minutes walk from Cezanne studio.
It is up hill to the sure.
We can see st. Victoire from distance.

Jas du Bouffant House

It is 8 minutes by bus from Palace de Gaulle.
It must be quiet one 114 years ago when he lived.
Traffic sound was noisy, but inside of the property is cooler because of trees.

I took a tour to see inside the house and garden.
The front garden is open for public as a park.
There are nothing in the house, but we watched a video about his paintings.
The whole living room walls turn into a screen.
It was very good!

There were friendly ducks in the pond.

I went the Bibems Quarries. I will post photos later.

August 3, Aix-en-Provence July 27

It has been a week since I came to Aix.
Everything went very well.
Actually, it was a little difficult to  go to a hotel from the bus station at Aix.
When I got off from the bus from MRS to Aix, I wasn't sure it was Aix, or not.
The bus station was under construction, and very hot. I felt I was throwing out in desert.
I had to catch a taxi...I can't move with my big and small luggage.
An angel came...when I asked a man about a taxi, his wife said I just saw a taxi!
She caught a taxi for me.

This is a photo of my room.
It is a very comfortable hotel, and great location.
